ITA - Il baldacchino è sostenuto da quattro colonne tortili ornate di tralci a rilievo. Sui capitelli è impostata la copertura, ornata da grandi volute e teste di cherubini. L’opera custodiva una statua dell’Assunta realizzata dal sermonetano Giuseppe Baccari, oggi scomparsa e sostituita con il crocifisso dello stesso scultore, proveniente dalla chiesa dell’Annunziata. Lo storico locale Pietro Pantanelli informa che il baldacchino è stato eseguito a spese dei canonici Lorenzo Tuzj e Carlo Filippo Galli, con il concorso di molti fedeli. Poiché il Tuzj è morto nel 1741, possiamo indicare tale data come termine ultimo per la realizzazione dell’opera.

ENG - The canopy is supported by four twisted columns decorated with branches in relief. The covering is set on the capitals, adorned with large scrolls and cherub heads. The work housed a statue of the Assumption made by Giuseppe Baccari from Sermonet, today disappeared and replaced with the crucifix by the same sculptor, from the church of the Annunziata. The local historian Pietro Pantanelli informs that the canopy was made at the expense of the canons Lorenzo Tuzj and Carlo Filippo Galli, with the help of many faithful.
